We had a customer calling in saying their scanner isn’t working. When we connected we realized it was a Panini Vision X Check scanner and will need the driver downloaded from the bank. Simply turning the scanner off and then back on didn’t fix the issue.
We had the user log into the bank website. Click on “Remote Deposit“, and then click on “Installation“.
Select “CAS Security Policy” and click “Install“.

Had a customer call because she has dual monitors and some of the first screen was on the first screen but other parts were on the second screen. She sent us a photo, and we knew what to do.
We got a call for a customer’s monitor showing “out of range“. This is all the customer could see. We were able to use ScreenConnect and we could see the desktop fine, so it must be the monitor.
One suggestion was to go to “msconfig“, in the “boot” tab, check “base video“, and reboot.
This got the user to be able to see their monitor; however, when we tried to set the resolution to what they had before the monitor went black again with the warning “out of range”. Since we were connected remotely we could see the desktop and make the changes to get desktop visible again. A tech went on-site.
The tech had an extra DVI cable in the vehicle and swapping the cable totally fixed the issue. We think a recent power surge there may have caused the issue.

We got a call from a user who says the keyboard it typing wrong letters. We used the “Device Manager” to see if the driver was up-to-date, and it was. We discovered there was a Extension in her Chrome browser that was labeled as Malware and was suppose to help type-to-search. We removed this Extension, reset the browser, and restarted the machine.
When the machine came back up we found the keyboard to work fine. The customer said the Function Keys still didn’t work right. In a search we discovered this article and the “Function Lock” key.
Sure enough the customer had a “F Lock” key. She pressed this key and turned off the function lock and everything was working as normal.
