Web Access Firewall – A Must Have Plugin

We like having a Web Access Firewall on websites just to make sure and this week was a prime example why they are important. Attackers find vulnerable websites where they can attack it and leave behind code that can be executed later. Often providing a home for a Distributed Denial Attack. We often see “file inclusion” attempts as one of the type of attacks. This week we say attacks from the around the globe.

On March 9, 2026 we had over 290 attack attempts on just our website. Fortunately everything was blocked. This could have been a huge headache to fix, so we were happy to see the firewall block them all. There are plenty of free extensions to try in our Content Management System, so get one installed if you don’t already.
