There was a documentary on HBO called "Surveilled" by Ronan Farrow focusing on spyware. It goes into detail on our cell phones can be turned into a surveillance device.
The big take away is to "Reboot" your phone on a daily basis. Spyware often requires a constant connection, and rebooting will break that connection.

Congrats to Matt Thompson and Stephanie Brice who participated in the AFCEA CMD First Annual Summerball Event on June 22nd. Team SCDIT brought home the GOLD!
SCDIT proudly supports Building Families for Children, a 100-year-old non-profit group of devoted caregivers who provide supportive care to at-risk families. Their website says it all, ensuring “children [are] cared for in families rather than in orphanages” or more currently, social services placements. Ideally, they work with families providing education, provisions and trauma-focused care to keep parents and children together. If necessary, children are placed with loving families with the end-goal of restoring the family. They do amazing work!
As you can imagine, the children need basic necessities to thrive. Every year, SCDIT collects school supplies so that they can start the next school year prepared and confident. If interested in participating, we will have a box in the SCDIT lobby until July 8.
