URL Redirects in Joomla

We like to use Joomla! over WordPress when it comes to websites with a portal, so when a Joomla! site needs URL redirected to retain SEO what do you do? The best suggestions are to use your .htaccess file because it redirects before Joomla! is engaged. Making this the fastest solution. Well we were not getting this right. It was frustrating. Using the built-in redirect plugin was clunky. You have to have a missed or 404 page and have the plugin recording. We found the easiest and best way was Akeeba Admin Tools.

We wanted to keep the existing URL so we set the “URL Parameters” to “None“.
