TS240 – No Ink Cartridge in Transport

We had a customer call because their bank Tellercheck TS240 check scanner wasn’t working. All the lights were lit up correctly; however, it wouldn’t scan. This was a new device and the customer installed the ink cartridge.

In the web browser the check scanner was throwing the error “No ink cartridge in the transport.” The instructions for installing the ink cartridge were to push down the back area till you get a double-click. The user said this did this, but we decided to do it again. After a couple of tries the user heard a click. This totally solved the issue.

Export Outlook Global Address Book to Excel

We needed to have an Excel spreadsheet of the email addresses we had in global address book group. Here is the best method we found so far.

  • Open a new email
  • In the “To” area click on the “To” button and select your group.
  • Next to the group name you will see a “+” icon. Click on this and this will display the email addresses.
  • We had a lot of email addresses so we needed to click on the “23 others” text to see all the email addresses.
  • Copy all these email addresses.
  • Open Excel and paste them into a single cell.
  • Select that single cell and go to the “Datatab in the Excel Tool Ribbon, and click on “Text to Column“.
  • Choose “Delimited” on the first prompt.
  • Choose “;” or “Semicolon” on the next prompt.
  • Choose “General” on the next, and hit “Finish“.
  • Select the whole row by clicking on the row number and hitting “CTL + C
  • Move down to a blank cell and right-click and choose “Paste Option: Transpose

Razer Lycosa Keyboard Locked Up Computer

We have an employee with a Razer Lycosa keyboard. His Windows 10 machine became unresponsive. The wireless mouse worked fine, but no keyboard input. We rebooted and went through BIOS settings and Advanced Start Up tools; however, none of these fixed the issue.

We put an old USB keyboard in place of the Razer, and everything worked fine. We didn’t spend any time on this issue, but don’t be surprised if you own one and have issues with it.

Drupal Showing HTML Not Content

While making an update to a very slow Drupal site we ended up displaying only the HTML mark up and not the content. This was an easy fix, but took a while because of the slow site.

Just below the content the “Text format” got set to “plain text“. We switched it back to “Full HTML” and this resolved the issue.

Outlook Online Results Are Limited to 250 items

We had an employee who needed to find an email from a few months ago, but when he searched in Outlook the results only went back

The following article from Microsoft did not work. We changed the “Option” to allow more search results, but this didn’t fix the issue.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2185146

We ended up creating a new profile and this totally fixed the issue. It took and hour for the mailbox to be completely rebuilt.

Domain Scam – info@shuiaknow.icu

We received a email regarding one of our customers domain name was expiring. The email had a “secure” link to make a payment. At first the email appeared legit, but it was from a domain company we recognized. The email said my “Domain SEO” was going to expire. What is a “Domain SEO”?

This alone set off an alarm to us. The domain was registered with SiteGround and in SiteGround the domain didn’t expire until 2022. This was a scam. We looked at the return address for the email “info@shuiaknow.icu“. The domain “shuiaknow.icu” doesn’t exist. Maybe we should send them an email telling them their domain expired.

Outlook Cannot open the Outlook Window

We upgraded a Windows 7 machine to Windows 10 via the Media Creation Tool. Once the upgrade was finished Outlook wouldn’t run. We got the following error.

We uninstalled and re-installed the Office program but this didn’t solve the issue. We ran a repair from the “uninstall Program” but choosing “repair”. This time I start to check Office by opening Word and not Outlook. Word opened fine and so did all the rest of the Office suite. Outlook opened like it should.
